ALLCARGO GLOBAL LOGISTICS LTD
PRICE: RS.140 RECOMMENDATION: BUY
TARGET  PRICE:  RS.190 CY12E P/E: 7.4X
To form a new company for its Non Vessel Owning Container Carrier (NVOCC) business. It is also looking forward to add capacities
in all areas.
Despite sluggish growth in World Trade and poor container shipping
market, Allcargo has been performing strongly, both in the NVOCC segment
and the Container Freight Station (CFS) business. It is now in the process of
forming a new company for its Non Vessel Owning Container Carrier
(NVOCC) business. The company has announced the merger of the project
division of its fully owned subsidiary into itself and has also constituted a
Committee of Directors to look into the demerger of its global Less than
Container Load (LCL) business. On expansion front, it is increasing the CFS
capacity at JNPT through a new facility with an annual capacity of ~1.5 lakh
TEUs. Company would also enhance the capacity at its Chennai CFS from 1.2
lakh TEUs to 1.5 lakh TEUS through renovation of the facility and purchase
of gantry cranes. Management indicated that the NVOCC and the CFS
segment would continue to grow at 10 to 12% CAGR despite bad times as
the company primarily operates in LCL segment which is more immune to
sluggishness in container trade. In the project cargo and engineering
solution division, the company has made a relatively huge capex of Rs 3.25
bn in CY11 primarily to enhance the fleet. We expect this segment to report
revenue growth of 25% CAGR to Rs 4.8 bn in CY12E. Overall we expect the
company to report a healthy topline growth of 12% CAGR to ~Rs 36 bn in
CY12E. The margins are also expected to expand as Allcargo takes an
absolute margin in its NVOCC segment and the current slowness in the
container shipping market has made the base low. Increased contribution
from high margin CFS business in total revenues would also help the
margin. Despite strong operational performance and estimated as well, the
stock price has remained flat YoY. We reiterate BUY on Allcargo with an
unchanged 12 month price target of Rs 190 for the stock. Downside to our
call includes: 1) Further competition in the CFS segment. 2) Slowing down
of container trade

Allcargo Global Logistics (AGL) declared its Q4CY11 results with revenues
at | 998.3 crore, EBITDA at | 99.3 crore and PAT at | 54.7 crore. While the
topline was above our estimates, PAT was below our estimates, mainly
due to higher depreciation & interest cost. Depreciation & interest
expense grew 35.8% and 324.4% YoY, respectively. The company
reported an EBITDA margin of 10%, contracting 290 bps sequentially,
mainly on account of lower EBITDA margin reported by ECU Line. The
company registered YoY volume growth of 17%, 8.7% and 14.5% in
MTO, CFS and ECU Line, respectively. Realisations in the CFS segment
continued to grow, registering 20% YoY growth. The realisation growth
was highest in Mundra (62.3% YoY), followed by JNPT (25.6% YoY) and
Chennai (5.9% YoY). We recommend a BUY rating the stock with a target
price of | 168.0.
ƒ Highlights of the quarter
Realisations of JNPT, Chennai  and Mundra increased by 25.6%,
5.9% and 62.3%, respectively, to | 13930/TEU, | 9003/TEU and
| 11121/TEU, respectively. The EBITDA per TEU also improved YoY
to | 7982/TEU for JNPT (Q3CY10 - | 6392/TEU), | 3493/TEU for
Chennai (Q3CY10 - | 3308/TEU) and | 3639/TEU for Mundra
(Q3CY10 - | 2151/TEU). Debt outstanding at the end of CY11 is
| 781.7 crore while cash at the end of CY11 stood at | 147.6 crore.
The company has given a capex guidance of | 250 crore for CY12.
V a l u a t i o n
At the current price of | 140, the stock is trading at a P/E multiple of 8.2x
its CY11E EPS of | 17.0 and 7.5x its CY12E EPS of | 18.7. The plan to
demerge its NVOCC segment in future would be positive for the
company. Lower volumes in CY12 would be partly offset by higher
realisations. We recommend a BUY rating on the stock with a target price
of | 168, 9.0x CY12E EPS.

Margins under pressure despite healthy realisations
Allcargo Logistics’ (Allcargo) Q4 results were below our estimates. Though
revenue was higher on the back of higher realisations in CFS and volumes in MTO
business, margins were lower than expectations mainly led by both standalone
MTO and ECU Line. Allcargo had reported its highest ever operating margins at
12.9% during Q3. Overall volumes remained steady (up 8.6% YoY but flat QoQ) at
131,793 containers. We remain upbeat on Allcargo due to strong container
volumes and improvement in margins led by CFS and ECU Line.
􀂁 Q3 results mixed: Consolidated revenue grew 41.9% YoY to Rs9,983mn, 22.1%
above expectations. Operating profit at Rs993mn up 29.0% YoY was 1.3% below
estimates. EBITDA margins at 10.0% declined 100bp YoY, 236bp lower than
estimates. Adjusted net profit at Rs506mn was 11.8% below our estimate while net
margin at 5.1% was 195bp lower.
􀂁 MTO business helped by steady volumes: Domestic MTO revenue increased
14.0% YoY mainly on the back of healthy volumes. While average realisations
fell 2.5% YoY to Rs86,350 per container, volumes grew 17.0% YoY to 7,124
containers. ECU Line’s Q4 revenue improved 33.8% YoY to Rs6,868mn on the
back of both healthy volumes and realisations. While volumes were up 14.5%
YoY to 61,379 containers, realisations increased 16.9% YoY to Rs111,895 per
container.

ALLCARGO GLOBAL LOGISTICS LTD
PRICE: RS.121 RECOMMENDATION: BUY
TARGET PRICE: RS.190 CY12E P/E: 7.4
We met the management of Allcargo Global Logistics (AGL) to get an insight
on the latest developments in the company.
Multimodal Transport Operations (MTO) showing signs of slowing
Allcargo generated its ~10% MTO volume (25,875 TEUs in CY10) from Indian market
and it generates remaining 90% MTO volume (~211,700 TEUs in CY10) through
ECU Line which has its presence in over 59 countries. MTO business largely depends
upon the performance of the container shipping segment. However, the global container
freight rates has fallen across routes by more than 40% in the last 10 months
with no signs of immediate recovery. For instance India - UK per TEU rate has fallen
from $ 1300 per TEU in January 2011 to $700 per TEU currently. But AGL being a
Less than Container Load (LCL) consolidator won't be much impacted by the weakness
in the container shipping market. Hence we are not bearish for MTO volume
growth for AGL. Increasing containerization especially in India supports our argument.
In Q3CY11, domestic MTO volumes grew by 13.2% YoY to 7,367 TEUs and
ECU Line volumes grew by 12.3 % YoY to 63,010 TEUs. We estimate domestic
volume to increase at a CAGR of 13% CY10 - CY12E to 32.894 TEUs in CY12E with
Indian economy is expected to grow ~7% for the next two years. While remaining
cautious, we estimate ECU Line's volume to increase at a CAGR of 4.5% over CY10
- CY12E to 234,477 TEUs in CY12E.

Allcargo Global Logistics’ (AGL) quarterly results for Q3CY11 were below
our expectations. The net profit declined by 1.4% YoY and 15.8% QoQ
due to higher depreciation & interest cost. AGL reported net sales of |
811.6 crore in Q3CY11, declining 5% QoQ and increasing 15.3% YoY. The
company reported a higher EBITDA margin of 12.9% mainly on account
of high realisations in the CFS segment (26.2% YoY growth) and stable
growth in MTO volume. The company registered a volume growth of
13%, 14% and 12.4% in MTO, CFS & ECU Line, respectively. ECU Line
continued its good performance wherein the EBITDA margins improved
by 30 bps YoY to 6.5%. The ensuing consolidated net profit after minority
interest stood at | 55.9 crore, a decline of 1.4% YoY and 15.8% QoQ.
ƒ CFS segment reports robust performance
During the quarter under review, all three CFS’ reported an increase
in realisations. The realisations of JNPT, Chennai and Mundra
increased by 39.3%, 22.3% and 4.0%, respectively, to | 13460/TEU,
| 9051/TEU and | 7125/TEU, respectively. The EBITDA per TEU also
improved YoY to | 8295/TEU for JNPT (Q3CY10 - | 5234/TEU), |
3710/TEU for Chennai (Q3CY10 -  | 3202/TEU) and | 2865/TEU for
Mundra (Q3CY10 - | 1918/TEU).
V a l u a t i o n
At the current market price of | 125, the stock is trading at a P/E multiple
of 7.2x its CY11E EPS of | 17.3 and 7.2x its CY12E EPS of | 17.5. We
believe the EBITDA margins will sustain at ~12% for CY11E and CY12E
on the back of robust growth in volumes in CFS and MTO operations.
Furthermore, the improvement seen  in ECU Line’s performance augurs
well for the company. We recommend a BUY rating on the stock with a
target price of | 175, 10.0x CY12E EPS.

LOGISTICS
Port volumes at 12 major ports in Q2FY12
Performance of Logistics companies involved with container rail business,
CFS business and related business is strongly linked to performance of the
port sector in the country. Port volumes in H1FY12 at the 12 major ports of
the country has grown to 280 mn tonnes ( +3% YoY) and container volumes
within that to 3.88 mn TEUS (+3% YOY). Minor ports like Mundra is
estimated to have grown much faster (14% CAGR). We expect the Logistics
companies in our coverage to report healthy growth in Q2FY12 (except
Concor).
Container Corporation of India (Accumulate: TP - Rs 1000)
n Q2FY12 consolidated revenue is expected to increase ~ 4 % YoY and increase ~
3% QoQ to Rs 9800 mn in sync with growth in volumes at major ports. It is important
to note here that Concor primarily operates in Exim segment out of JNPT.
n The domestic volumes of the company are estimated to report a YoY drop of
~10% in volumes. In the previous quarter Concor had reported a 13% YoY
decline in domestic volumes primarily led by new railway policy effective Dec-
2010. Railways increased the specified rating of five commodities (cement, stone
other than marbles, iron & steel, alloys & metals, POL products) leading to higher
haulage by 100% to 275%. This led to Concor losing almost the entire volumes
of these commodities to road transportation.
n Operating profit is expected at Rs 2635 mn which translates into an operating
margin of ~27 %, declining almost 100 bps YoY from 27.74% primarily due to
increased competition in the Exim segment (waning pricing power) and higher
haulage cost in domestic segment (not completely passed to customers till date).
n Net profit for Q2FY12 is expected at Rs.2325 mn against Rs 2342 mn in Q1FY12
(remaining flat) and Rs 2068 mn in Q2FY12.
n As the valuations had become little attractive during the quarter, we had
changed the rating of the stock from Reduce to Accumulate on 29 August 2011.
Gateway Distriparks Ltd (Buy: TP - Rs 160)
n We expect GDL's Q2FY12 revenues to increase~38% YoY and increase ~3%
QoQ to Rs 1880 mn. This we believe would be largely led by congestion at JNPT
and Chennai port (it leads to higher CFS volumes and realization) and improved
load factor in the rail business.
n The rail business is expected to report healthy load factor of 80% (previous year
~75%) with operating margin of 17%. This would be third consecutive quarter
for the rail business to report profits at net level.
n With improved CFS realizations (YoY) and robust rail performance we expect
GDL to report operating profit of Rs 640 mn which translates into an improved
operating margin of ~34 %, improving almost 600 bps YoY from ~ 27%.
n Net profit is expected at Rs 350 mn versus Rs 334 mn in Q1FY12 and Rs 205 mn
in Q2FY11.

Allcargo Global Logistics (Buy: TP - Rs 195)
n Q2FY12 consolidated revenue is expected to increase ~ 25% YoY and increase
3% QoQ to Rs 8,800 mn. Again the congestion at JNPT and Chennai port would
help the company report better numbers in the CFS business. ECU line and domestic
MTO business is also estimated to report 4% growth in volumes in line
with growth of global container volumes. However the realization should be under
pressure due to uncertainty in Eurozone.
n Operating profit is expected at Rs 1050 mn which translates into an operating
margin of ~11.93 %, falling marginally YoY from 11.98% primarily due to pricing
pressure in the key MTO business.
n Net profit is expected at Rs 650 mn against profit of Rs 665 mn in Q1FY12 and
profit of Rs 379 mn in Q2FY11.

ALLCARGO GLOBAL LOGISTICS LTD
PRICE: RS.167 RECOMMENDATION: ACCUMULATE
TARGET PRICE: RS.195 CY12E P/E: 10.7X
Robust Operational Performance
Allcargo Global (AGLL) recorded better than expected results for the quarter
on the back of improved performance in the CFS and MTO segment. AGLL
PAT grew 75% YoY to Rs 665 mn. The EBIDTA margins for the quarter stood
at 12%, up 160bps YoY. Revenue grew ~34% YoY to Rs 8.5 bn on the back
of 35% and 60% YoY growth in revenue in EcuLine and CFS segment. CFS
segment revenue growth was mainly contributed by the 38% YoY increase
in average realization and 16% growth in total volume. We believe that
higher realisations follow our estimation of shift of northbound cargo to
the other western ports like Pipavav and Mundra. JNPT continues to handle
greater amount of Western India cargo, hence the throughput from the local
CFS's would increase. The NVOCC/MTO segment also saw healthy growth,
with EcuLine revenue growth at 35% YoY at Rs6.1 bn contributing 72% to
the total revenue. Consolidated MTO volume growth stood at 16% YoY, inline
with expectations (we expect 14% CAGR over CY10-CY12E). We
maintain our estimates and ACCUMULATE rating on the stock with a target
of Rs 195 with 16% upside from current levels.

Financial highlights
n Consolidated revenue grew 34% YoY to Rs 8.5 bn with the ECU Line and CFS
segment acting as the major growth drivers with 35% and 60% YoY growth.
Revenue in the project cargo/equipment handling division also grew 20% YoY.
n EBIDTA margins improved on the back of improvement in CFS margins with the
CFS EBIT margin improving by 800 bps to ~52%% in Q2CY10. ECU Line margins
however remained stagnant at 5.7%. The ratio of Imports to Exports containers
handled in the CFS segment also improved for the quarter from 4.5:1 to
5.3:1, which also contributed for the margin improvement.

n PBT improved by 65% YoY to Rs802 mn and Adjusted PAT improved by 75%
YoY to Rs.665 mn mainly due to the higher realizations in CFS segment and improvement
in margins.
n The tax rate stood at a lower 13.8% due to higher MAT entitlement for the
quarter as the earnings contribution from the CFS segment increased.
n Overall volume growth in MTO and CFS segments stood at 16% YoY. The realization
growth in the CFS segment stood at 38% YoY and the ECU Line
realisation grew by 6% YoY

Outlook and Valuation
We expect the NVOCC realizations to come under pressure due to the correction in
freight rates in the container shipping market in Q2CY11. As the impact will take a
quarter's time to pass on, Q3CY11 is expected to show lower realizations for the
ECU Line entity. However, volume growth estimates are being maintained at 14%
over CY10 to CY12E. Any impact on the global trade post the recent signs of slowdown
would warrant downgrade at volume estimates.
The CFS segment has shown a growth of 38% in realization which we expect to
slow down from here. With capacity constraints at the JNPT port and expected slowdown
in trade, the CFS segment realization growth is expected to slow down in the
coming quarter. At CMP, the stock is trading at 10.7 x to CY12 earnings estimates
and available at ~20% discount to its peer group average of 13 x. We have valued
the stock at par with peers. We arrive at a target price of Rs 195 per share. The
target price implies a potential upside of 16% for an investment horizon of 12
months

Allcargo Global Logistics, whose business straddles the logistics value-chain offers a proxy to the growing economy. The company's presence in high-traffic ports, established relationship with major shipping lines and expanding footprint through inland container depots (ICD) make it an attractive investment bet for the long term.
With the country's export-import volumes beginning to pick up, Allcargo seems well-placed to leverage from it. Focused efforts to develop the logistics network in the country — road development, cold-chain logistics and warehouse development — too augur well for the company.
That it is now expanding into third party logistics (3PL) services and adding to its existing capacities also adds in its favour. Given this growth backdrop, valuations seem reasonable. At the current market price of Rs 164, the stock trades at about 11 times its expected CY-11 per share earnings.

Volumes at India’s 12 major ports remained lacklustre
with a marginal increase of 1.3% YoY and a decline of
10.2% MoM to 46.4mn tonnes during February 2011. This
was primarily on the back of a decline in POL (Petroleum,

gains recorded by containers. POL volumes declined 5.9%
YoY to 13.6mn tonnes and iron ore traffic declined 6.8%
YoY to 9.2mn tonnes. Container traffic grew 13.6% YoY to
