 The Union Cabinet is expected to soon consider a proposal to increase
foreign direct investment cap in broadcasting services like Direct-to-Home
and cable TV networks to a uniform 74%. (BL)
 The yields on the 10-year benchmark government bond touched a fourmonth high of 8.78% on Tuesday as the RBI conducted the first auction of
the financial year amid tight liquidity conditions. (BS)

 Improved demand from infrastructure projects pushed up cement sales in
March 2012. An average price increase of Rs 10-20 per 50 kg bag did not

 The road transport ministry has asked the National Highways Authority of
India (NHAI) to ascertain the findings of a report by the World Bank's
Institutional Integrity Unit. According to the report, contractors paid
bribes and gifts to influence the actions of NHAI officials and consultants.

 The partnership for homeland security between Reliance Industries and
global engineering and electronics giant Siemens may be coming apart in

Ltd, have got into a tie-up to collaborate in setting up a chain of beauty

 Tata Motors is replacing free of cost a part in the suspension system of its
mid-sized sedan Manza that has been sold so far, without calling it a

 Piramal Healthcare will spend Rs 2 Bn on various research and
development activities this fiscal, including clinical trials for its two cancer

 Cairn Energy India Pty Limited ("CEIL"), wholly owned subsidiary of Cairn
India Limited ("CIL") has made an oil discovery in the Nagayalanka-SE-
1 well, in the onshore block KG-ONN-2003/1, in the Krishna-Godavari Basin
on the east coast of India. Stake holders in the block: CEIL (operator) 24%,
Cairn India 25%, ONGC 51%. (ET)
 Oil India Ltd is looking at buying a stake in Chesapeake Energy Corp.'s
Mississippi Lime formation in Oklahoma, a source with knowledge of the

 The Guru Gobind Singh Refinery, an HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited project in
Bathinda(Punjab) would be inaugurated in mid-April. (BS)
 Engineering and construction firm Unity Infraprojects today said it has
bagged two orders worth Rs 8.4 bn. The orders relate to development of
NHAI roads. The first project entails development and operation of
Suratgarh- Sriganganagar section of NH-15 in Rajasthan through publicprivate-partnership on design, build, operate and transfer basis for a
concession period of 11 years. (BS)
 Everonn Education today said its founder and former chief P Kishore has
sold 4.98% stake in the company for an estimated Rs 290 mn through
open market, bringing down his stake to 11.94%. According to a BSE
filing, Kishore sold 1.090 million shares along with six other PACs (persons
acting in concert) on March 30, which would be worth about Rs 290 mn at
the current market price of Rs 268.40 a share. (BS)
 A US court in California has granted class action status to a lawsuit against
India's largest information technology services firm  Tata Consultancy
Services, which according to two former employees allegedly refused to
return tax refunds besides not paying promised wages
