  2. yes
if you apply for Rs 2 L (31 lot)
or apply for Rs 6K (1 lot)

you get only 1 lot =17 share

    but PROBABILTY of ALLOCATION changes

At rs 2Lacs it is 98% (49 out of 50)
at rs 6k it is 3% (1 out of 31)

So if you apply for Rs 2L ..change of getting is a lot more

  14. I applied for 323 received Nil shares, the percentage got reduced drastically to 24% from 61%, this is not at all fair, atleast they should have maintained ascending percentage order, this is purely a lottery and we are investors not gamblers, sebi should take care of this issue and do justice to all the retail investors, all the investors should get allotment even if it is 1 share.

  15. Government is trying hard to pull in the retail investor in the stock market. Indians retailers possess a more power to do the same thing as FII. But this is really very bad and a discouraging symbols for a retails investors.
    1/1 with 3%
1/31 with 98% probability.this is really weird way of alloting the shares. Coal India allotment was much better

  16. It is a simple calculation:

MOIL Size: 33,600,000 Equity Shares of Rs. 10
    Issue Size: Rs. 1,142.40 - 1,260.00 Cr
Coal India Size: 631,636,440 Equity Shares
    Issue Size: Rs. 15,475.09 Crore

I thought of below mentioned points and did not apply for MOIL.

Coal India retail part subscribed 2.31 times. Coal India was almost 14 times larger than MOIL in terms of issue size. As MOIL was equally good as Coal India(CIL) and was expected to attract investor's interest after the success of CIL. And then the application size increased to 2 lacs for retail investors. So the minimum oversubscription I expected was 2.31 (CIL's oversubscription) * 14(Ratio of issue size between CIL & MOIL)=32.34 i.e. for every full application(527 shares) the expected allotment was about to be 527/32.34=16.30( about 1 lot of 17 shares)...and also the chances of oversubscription was more as the amount was increased to 2 lacs and that because of CIL's success in terms of listing gains.

I was not surprised when I saw MOIL oversubscribed 32.8600 times in retail category
