` Reliance Communication (RCOM IN) controlled FLAG Telecom has filed a prospectus
in the Singapore Stock Exchange to list and divest 75% stake in the submarine cables
business for USD 1.25-1.5bn. (BSTD)
` The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is planning to invest USD 60mn in Apollo
Hospitals (APHS IN). (BSTD)
` Fortis Healthcare (FORH IN) & Manipal Hospitals, both keen to set up large MultiSpecialty Hospitals in the Maharashtrian city, have shown interest in acquiring the
sprawling Grand Hyatt Pune for the purpose. (BSTD)
` ONGC (ONGC IN) plans to invest over USD 6.61bn in the next FY in Exploration &
Production (E&P) of oil & gas, a 5% increase over capital expenditure in 2011-12.

` NMDC (NMDC IN) plans to invest USD 702mn on its upcoming 3 MTPA capacity steel

` Essar Steel is set to commission a pellet unit in a week in Odisha to pave the way for

` Benefits of Budget proposal to abolish 5% import duty on Liquefied Natural Gas
(LNG) seem to be only for power generation companies such as NTPC (NTPC IN) and

` Future Group is negotiating as many as 18 divestment & fund raising transactions
simultaneously, including a strategic partner in its flagship Big Bazaar stores, as it put
seeks to pare its nearly USD 1.56bn debt and put finances back on track. (ECNT)
` The government’s plans to reign in petroleum subsidies to plug the fiscal deficit next
financial year are in jeopardy, as a whopping USD 40bn revenue loss is expected at
