Market ended positive ahead of Budget session :: HDFC Sec.

The S&P BSE Sensex closed 185 points higher at 23,161 and the Nifty 50 climbed 56 points to end at 7,027. In the broader market, small caps did not witness buying interest with BSE Smallcap index closing 0.4% lower. However, BSE Midcap index climbed 0.3%. The market breadth ended negative with 1,4234 declines versus 1,040 advances. NSE cash turnover was at Rs. 14,084 cr.

Stocks

Dewan Housing Finance Corp, LIC Housing Finance and Housing Development Finance Corp (HDFC) up between 1%-8%. Axis Bank, SBI, Federal Bank, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, IndusInd Bank, YES Bank and ICICI Bank up between 1%-3.5%. Coal India gained 3.5%. Bajaj Auto, Hero Motocorp, Eicher Motors and Ashok Leyland down between 0.5%-4%. 

Japan extended its rally and closed 0.3% up while Hang Seng and Shanghai Composite added 2.5% and 1% respectively. FTSE 100, DAX and CAC 40 have gained 1%-2.5%

Outlook
Nifty opens with an upgap but in later session it filled the gap and rose again to face resistance at today's high. Nifty finally closed at 7029.75 level up by 0.85%. In coming session if Nifty sustains above 7020 level then traders could expect positive move in the Nifty  towards 7090 followed by 7145 level.  If Nifty trades below 7020 level for first hour of trade then traders may see  down move, which could take Nifty to 6960 level followed by 6870 level.
