Sales Traders Commentary
The Indian equity market closed higher on the back of positive global cues. Both Sensex and Nifty gained more than 1.20% each. All sectoral indices closed in the green, major gainers being financials, power, consumer durables, capital goods, auto and realty stocks.
 The Sensex closed at 16416, up 199 points, while the Nifty jumped 65 points to end the day at 4985.
Major gainers were State Bank Of India (4.76%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (4.17%), Tata Power Company (3.81%), Hindalco Industries (2.82%), Tata Motors (2.69%), and Mahindra & Mahindra (2.52%).
Major losers were G A I L (India) (2.62%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.26%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.20%), Hindustan Unilever (0.82%), Jindal Steel & Power (0.50%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.27%).
The Bankex jumped 2.42%. Major gainers were Bank of India (2.93%), Bank Of Baroda (2.24%), Canara Bank (2.08%), H D F C Bank (1.52%), and Federal Bank (0.78%).
The Power index gained 2.33%. Major gainers were A B B (4.61%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (4.17%), Crompton Greaves (3.54%), Reliance Infrastructure (2.22%), and Adani Power (0.49%).
The Consumer Durables index was up 2.20%. Major gainers were Titan Industries (4.19%), V I P Industries (3.87%), T T K Prestige (1.87%), Whirlpool Of India (1.49%), and C.Mahendra Exports (0.67%).
The Capital Goods index was up 1.85%. Major gainers were A B B (4.61%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (4.17%), Crompton Greaves (3.54%), Bharat Electronics (2.52%), and A I A Engineering (1.3%).
Major gainers in the mid–cap space were Amara Raja Batteries (3.75%), A I A Engineering (1.3%), Alok Industries (1.06%), Aban Offshore (0.93%), and A B G Shipyard (0.23%).

Major gainers among small caps were Aanjaneya Lifecare (1.31%), Action Construction Equipment (1.06%), A B G Infralogistics (0.9%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (0.76%), and Styrolution ABS (India) (0.23%).
Globally, Asian indices ended on a higher note while European indices were trading in the green.
