Absorption deteriorates further; Bengaluru steady. For January 2012, Propequity
and RBI data points to several negatives – further deterioration in absorption, weak
launches, build-up of inventory and further moderation in housing loan uptake.
Mumbai continues to perform poorly with lowest absorption since Dec 2008 while
Bengaluru stays steady. In case weakness in sales continues, deleveraging will remain a
distant goal for real estate companies.
