Auto – June 2011 volume update
Hero Honda – In line with our est.
n Total sales increased by 20% YoY to 512,244 units
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) – strong show, tractor surprises positively
n Total sales increased by 32% YoY to 55,794 units.
n Both UV and pickup segments reported strong growth of 14% and 65% YoY respectively
n Tractors reported robust volumes at 22,730 units (37% YoY)
n Ssangyong reported strong volume growth of 40% YoY, -1% MoM to 10,364 units..
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) – volumes in line with expectations
n Total sales for June 2011 declined ~9% YoY to 80,298 units.
n Domestic sales declined by 4% YoY to 70,020 units.
n Export declined by 33% YoY to 10,278 units.
n Product mix also deteoriated with A3 segment reporting the strongest decline of 60% YoY impacted by strike at Manesar plant
Eicher Motors – Strong momentum continues
n Strong overall volume growth reporting 34% YoY to 9,987 units
n Heavy duty vehicles sales increased by 47% YoY to 510 units
n LCV/MCV truck segment also recorded strong growth of 20% YoY to 2,312 units
Tata Motors Ltd (TML) – CV segment drives volumes
n Overall sales declined -0.7% YoY to 66,358 units.
n M&HCVs volumes came at 16,074 units, up 6% YoY
n LCVs sales increased by 18% YoY to 23,197 units.
n Car (ex-Nano) volumes declined by 21% YoY to 13,070 units while Nano at 5,451 units declined by 29% YoY.
n Export sales was strong recording 21% YoY to 5,094 units
TVS Motor Ltd (TVSL) – Robust volumes
n Total sales increased by 14% YoY to 182,455 units
n Motorcycle sales increased by 5% YoY to 69,859 units.
n Scooters increased by 21% YoY to 44,281 units.
n Total domestic sales increased by 9% YoY to 156,096 units.
n Export sales increased by 57% YoY to 26,359 units
