News headlines: Corporate
􀂉 Glenmark Pharma has signed a US$613m outlicensing deal with
French major Sanofi for one of the molecules it is developing. (BS)
􀂉 SBI may defer its planned Rs200bn rights issue as the government
may find it difficult to invest the funds necessary to maintain its
stake. (ET)
􀂉 L&T has won a Rs35bn order from Chennai based PNN Power
Generating Co. Ltd for a 3x360MW gas based power plant. (Mint)
􀂉 Coal India is reportedly in negotiations with Peabody Energy to
pick up a 15% stake in a JV to operate US$600m mining project in

􀂉 Indian wholesale price based inflation fell to 8.66% in April 2011
against a revised 9.04% in March. The figure for February was also
revised to 9.54% from 8.31% earlier. (BS)
􀂉 The telecom ministry has said that only 15 licenses are fit for
cancellation against the 69 recommended by TRAI. (Mint)
􀂉 Petrol consumption growth in India slowed to 10.8% YoY in FY11
against 13.9% in FY10 in the face of rising prices. (BS)


􀂉 The finance ministry will meet regulators today to decide the
structure for the proposed Infrastructure Debt Fund. (BS)
􀂉 The value of cheque transactions in India dropped 2.6% YoY in

will be taking over as the non-executive Vice Chairman. He will be
succeeded by Mr. N V Tyagarajan. (BS)
􀂉 Toyota Kirloskar Motors will resume normal production from
Friday following a 70% production cut earlier due to supply
