§ On Thursday, key benchmark indices edged lower in choppy trade, falling for the third straight day, on weak global clues. IT and some realty stocks were weak. Healthcare and auto stocks rose. Banking stocks were mixed.
§ The Sensex ended down 133.13 points at 17459.64. The Nifty closed down at 5223.40.
§ Healthcare stocks evinced good buying interest . Movers were Lupin, Ranbay Laboratories, and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, which rose by between 2.01% and 4.83%.
§ Auto stocks also saw good bargain hunting. Tata Motors rose 2.1% , Maruti Suzuki India rose 0.08%, and Bajaj Auto gained 1.05; M&M traded flat.
§ Banking stocks were trading mixed. ICICI Bank rose 0.45%, HDFC Bank rose 1.5%; SBI fell 3.5%.
§ New listing Omkar Special was trading at INR 56.60, down 42.24%, compared to issue price of INR 98/ share.
§ Globally, Asia ended in the red while Europe was trading flat.
