Women better tax planners than men: rediff


TaxWomen tax payees are better 'tax planners' than men across the country, a study conducted by online-income tax filing-portal TaxSpanner has said.

The study, conducted across 500 corporates and banks in Delhi  NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluruand Hyderabad, revealed that women in Chennai were the best tax planners with the average tax ratio (percentage of gross salary paid as tax)-at two per cent, closely followed by women in NCR at 3 per cent and Bengaluru at 4 per cent respectively.

LPG, diesel may get costlier soon


The government is close to taking a decision on capping the number of subsidised LPG cylinders to 'econonomically not weaker' sections to bring down the subsidies by up to Rs 10,000 crore (Rs 100 billion) annually, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas R P N Singh said on Wednesday.

The government is also looking at partial decontrol of diesel, he said.

VKS Projects closes above issue price

Shares of VKS Projects , an EPC contractor, clawed back above the issue price of Rs 55 in last couple of hours of trade after hitting a lower circuit of Rs 53.05 in early trade on Wednesday. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs 56 in late trade, before closing at Rs 55.60, with a rise of just 1% over issue price. The Rs 55-crore public issue was opened for subscription during June 29-July 4, which managed to get fully subscribed on final day. VKS Projects is engaged in the business of undertaking EPC contracts of CS/SS/alloy steel turnkey piping, civil land development, industrial / commercial infra projects, structural fabrication and erection of equipments, fire fighting projects and commissioning of chemical plants. Company intends to use issue proceeds for long-term working capital requirements besides financing the procurement of construction equipment and key machineries and the setting up of engineering design studio/office and training centre in Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

Sangam Advisors IPO to open on July 24


Mumbai based Sangam Advisors is entering capital market with a public issue of 23.04 lakh equity shares on July 24.

Company aims to raise Rs 5.07 crore at Rs 22 a share through the issue, which closes on July 26.

It is engaged in the business of providing diversified financial services with a primary focus in assisting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in corporate and non-corporate sector in their financial planning, corporate restructuring and fund syndication requirements.
 
Sangam intends to use issue proceeds for investments in listed / unlisted securities and financial products.

Equity shares are proposed to be listed on BSE SME platform.

Aryaman Financial Services Limited is the lead manager to the issue.
