IndusInd Media & Communications Ltd (IMCL), a subsidiary of Hinduja Ventures ltd commenced operations in 1995 and
has built up india's largest cable television MSO. With an estimated 8 million subscribers across 28 key cities, the
company offers 300 channels in the digital mode (it also offers about 90 TV channels in the analog mode). Most of the
major cities of IMCL are digital enabled by digital headends or IP.
IMCL has a backbone of over 10000 kms of hybrid fibre optic networks through which it also offers broad band services and has a
National ISP license. The Fibre infrastructure network has enabled IMCL to lease out some unused fibre to telcos, infrastructure
providers, ISPs and competitors. It has over 2700 Local Cable Operators as Franchisees and around 2000 staff.
The company has invested in developing a strong technical foundation partnering with global cable TV and convergence leaders like
BARCO, Tandberg, Magna Quest, NAGRAVISION, Motorola etc which provides them a differentiator in quality and scalability of
operations. It has plans for a rapid digitalization and expansion in the next two years. Expect to reach over 2 million Digital homes
and over 10 million analogue homes in next twelve to 18 months.
