News headlines: Corporate
􀂉 Posco can finally go ahead with its US$12bn project in Orissa. The
environment ministry gave the Orissa government the go-ahead
for using 1,253 hectares forest land for the project. (BS)
􀂉 Reliance Industries is to present, in a fortnight, a plan to the
petroleum ministry to drill another 11 gas wells in the D6 field of
the Krishna-Godavari basin, where output has been falling. (BS)
􀂉 Air India has cancelled 90% of its domestic flights. The carrier is
estimated to have incurred revenue losses of Rs0.5bn in a week.

􀂉 Telephony and power generation will no more be counted as
infrastructure with the Union government set to notify 25 sectors
as infrastructure. (BS)

􀂉 Merchandise export in March reached US$29.13bn, up 43.8% YoY,
while imports grew 17.2% YoY to US$34.74bn. (BS)
􀂉 The government will likely come out with new norms to determine
the fuel efficiency of vehicles by the end of this month, seeking to
encourage the use of eco-friendly vehicles to combat pollution.
