Sales Traders Commentary
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed listless trade flat for the third consecutive session on Friday. Markets gave off morning gains after bourses in Europe opened weak. ICICI Bank topped the buying list after better-than-expected numbers for Q4. Technology stocks too helped the market.
The Sensex closed at  17,134.25, flat 0.02%. The Nifty ended flat 0.03% at 5,190.60.
Gainers were Hindalco Industries (2.67%), ICICI Bank (2.25%), HCL Tech (1.78%), GAIL (India) (1.71%) and Infosys Technologies (1.65%).   
Losers were SAIL (2.86%), Coal India (2.42%), ACC (2.33%), IDFC (2.26%) and State Bank of India (1.93%).
The Realty index was at 1,645.83, down 30.86 points or by 1.84%. Major losers were Housing Development and Infrastructure (4.02%), Anant Raj Industries (3.2%), D B Realty (2.9%), D L F (1.93%) and Sunteck Realty (0.07%).
The Metal index was at 10,800.30, down 181.12 points or by 1.65%. Major losers were Coal India (3.02%), Jindal Steel & Power (2.16%), Bhushan Steel (1.72%), JSW Steel (1.21%) and Hindustan Zinc (0.16%).
The PSU index was at 7,072.84, down 86.92 points or by 1.21%. Major losers were Allahabad Bank(3.46%), Andhra Bank (2.9%), Bank Of Baroda (1.23%), Balmer Lawrie & Company (0.74%) and Bank Of India (0.54%).
On the other hand, the IT index was at 5,548.19, up 45.93 points or by 0.83%. Major gainers were HCL Technologies (1.95%), Hexaware Technologies (1.69%), Oracle Financial Services Software (1.55%), Infosys (1%), and Mphasis (0.51%).
Globally, Asia ended on a muted note while Europe was trading firm.
