Census 2011: Trending up. There have been material changes in the lifestyle of
Indians over the last decade including (1) in the quality of their housing, (2) amenities
available at home and (3) in the assets owned by them. Lower birth rates have led to a
change in the family composition, with 2-4-member households becoming the norm
from the 6+ members earlier. Aspirations of better living are now clearly reflected in
Indians moving beyond ‘inferior goods’. We believe this up-trending will continue.
