cancellation of coal blocks allocated to NTPC. (BS)

􀂉 EGoM meeting on pricing and utilization of natural gas, scheduled
to be held on 9th June, has been cancelled. (BS)
􀂉 EGoM meeting on coal has been advanced from 16th June to 9th
June. The EGoM is looking to resolve disputes between the coal
and environment ministries. (BS)
􀂉 A committee on natural resources allocation has called for creation
of a national coal market to ensure greater transparency and
reduce the demand-supply mismatch for the same. (BS)




􀂉 Gross direct tax collections for the months of Apr-May’11 rose 37%
YoY to Rs504bn. Net collections though declined by 48% YoY to
Rs130bn on account of accelerated tax refunds. (BS)
􀂉 Finance Minister has reiterated the fiscal deficit target at 4.6% of
GDP for FY12, though expects revenue growth to slow down. (BS)
􀂉 The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has cleared a deal with
US for purchase of 10 C-17 heavy lift military aircraft from Boeing
worth US$4.1bn. Boeing will have to invest 30% of the contract
