Dr. Reddy’s Labs launched three generic products in the US market
Dr. Reddy's Labs (DRL) has launched the following three generic drugs in the US market,
namely 1) Donepezil Hydrochloride (5mg and 10mg), a bioequivalent generic version of
Aricept tablets; 2) Venlafaxine Hydrochloride-generic, a version of Effexor XR used to treat
depression and social anxiety; and 3) Letrozole tablets, available in 2.5 mg potency is a
bioequivalent generic version of Femara used to treat menopausal disorders. According to
IMS Health as of March-2011, Aricept, Effexor XR and Femara had US sales of nearly
US$2.3bn, US$2.3bn and US$702mn, respectively. The stock is currently trading at 18.2x
and 16.7x its FY2012E and FY2013E earnings, respectively. We maintain our Buy
recommendation on the stock with a target price of `1,920.
