Sales Traders Commentary
§ On Wednesday, the Sensex pared some of its gains due to profit taking. Realty, oil & gas, IT, and metal stocks gained, while power, capital goods and auto stocks slipped.
§ The Sensex closed at 18090.6, up 0.38%. The Nifty ended gained 0.27% to 5432.
§ Gainers were Tata Motors (4.60%), D L F (3.49%), Reliance Industries (3.00%), Tata Consultancy Services (2.77%), Hindalco Industries (2.46%), and Sterlite Industries (India) (2.42%).
§ Losers were Hero Honda Motors (4.71%), NTPC (2.43%), Bajaj Auto (2.27%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (2.02%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.85%), and Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.70%).
§ The Realty index was at 2193.28, up 54.55 points or 2.55%. Major gainers were Housing Development and Infrastructure (5.14%), D L F (3.49%), Godrej Properties (3.09%), Indiabulls Real Estate (1.68%), and Mahindra Lifespace Developers (0.38%).
§ The Oil & Gas index was at 9470.74, up by 187.87 points or 2.02%. Major gainers were Bharat Petroleum Corporation (2.92%), Indian Oil Corporation (0.99%), CairnIndia (0.81%), Oil India (0.48%), and G A I L (India) (0.42%).
§ The IT index was at 3729.71, up 43.76 points or 1.19%. Major gainers were Dish TV India (4.8%), Idea Cellular (3.39%), D B Corp (2.5%), Bharti Airtel (2.03%), and Reliance MediaWorks (1.13%).
§ Globally, Asia ended on a muted note, while Europe was trading in the green.
