· Revenues were up 28% at INR 1,313 million from INR 1,026 mn. Ad revenues increased
35% to INR 945 mn driven by growth in volume and pricing across geographies.
Circulation revenues stood at INR 306 mn as compared to INR 306 mn.
· EBITDA increased to INR 200 mn from INR 167 mn. Growth in ad revenues was partially
offset by increase in cost of raw material due to higher circulation and newsprint prices.
· PAT for the current quarter is INR 117 mn representing a margin of 9%. Q3FY11 EPS
stood at INR 1.59
Overall readership for Hindustan is at 10.8 mn; reflecting 7% increase in readership over IRS
Q2 2010. Hindustan maintained leadership position with 74.3% of readership share. It
consolidated its leadership position in Jharkhand with 58% readership share. Hindustan was
the fastest growing newspaper in the state with 11% growth over IRS Q2 2010. It is the
fastest growing daily in Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand with a readership growth of 10% over
IRS Q2 2010. It continues to be second largest in Delhi NCR. New printing press was
commissioned on 15 December 2010 in Gorakhpur. It is the 8th printing location in Uttar
Pradesh. A total of 8 sub-editions have been launched covering Gorakhpur city, Basti, Deoria,
Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar and other surrounding areas of
Gorakhpur.
