INCH Strategy (INCH, ASEAN and the US: size matters):
The past ten years have seen economic power shift from the US to emerging Asia, most notably INCH (India and China) and ASEAN. In 2000, the combined GDP of INCH and ASEAN was 0.2x of the US—but in 2010, it will be more than 0.6x. Indeed, in terms of agricultural and industrial output, the part more relevant to cross-border economic influence, INCH and ASEAN were 1.4x of the US by 2008. Back in 1998, the ratio was 0.6x. From 1999 to 2008, enrolment for tertiary education in INCH and ASEAN has grown from 1.7x to 3.0x of the US.
